French hand carved sculptural olivewood pitcher
Small mid century French hand carved sculptural olivewood monoxyl pitcher in the style of Alexandre Noll. Beautiful rich, natural wood grain with one side very plain and pale. The handle has great detailing, almost like a piece of tiger bread.
Marked 'Bois D’Olivier, Dany Laurent, Le Tanagra Vallauris'.
In great vintage condition - some minor signs of wear and dryness. Structurally sound crack running down the front edge of the jug along the natural grain, starting at the spout, which has been filled. See images.
